As many of you know the RIST Forum, which is dedicated to helping the industry to adopt an interoperable standard, Reliable Internet Transport Stream (RIST), for transporting live video over unmanaged networks, is very close to our Cobalt hearts.
We’re more than halfway through the year and marching towards IBC 2022, where we’ll be exhibiting on stand 10.B44 (more info coming soon). 2022 marks our 25th anniversary, we’ve seen record-breaking sales and have been presented with four more awards, bringing the total to 40 awards earned since 1997.

Make room in the trophy cabinet. Turning 25 isn’t the only thing Cobalt celebrated this NAB. The designer and manufacturer of edge devices for live video production and master control, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, added four more awards to its collection, bringing the grand total to 40 accolades and achievements the Company has earned over a quarter of a century.
Can you believe that we’re already several weeks into 2022! Winter will soon be over and we’re very much hoping that the COVID situation will ease considerably this year, allowing people to get back to a continued sense of normality. As we look ahead to NAB 2022 and our plans for the year, we are excited to share some Cobalt news, insights, and updates.

Dr. Ciro Noronha, Cobalt's Executive Vice President of Engineering, was featured in IEEE Broadcast Technology Society's Fourth Quarter 2021 publication.
Don’t miss our very own SVP of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Suzana Brady’s interview with KitPlus TV, where you can watch Suzana discuss Cobalt’s involvement with openGear, and what the company’s NAB 2021 participation would have looked like had the show gone ahead.
We’re really proud and lucky to work with an amazingly talented team at Cobalt. As well as constantly developing our own portfolio to meet the growing needs of our customers, we also like to get involved with technical groups and associations to discuss the changing needs of the industry and what we can do to help affect that change.
Trade show season is back on track (keeping everything crossed) and that means that the industry is looking ahead to the “Next Big Thing”. Remote working will certainly be a huge topic, as it has been over the past 18 months, but what else can we expect to hear at NAB and IBC later this year?

If you think back over the past 18 months, given the turmoil that communities and businesses across the world have experienced, it’s quite incredible how well - and how quickly - industries have adapted. When COVID-19 forced millions of people into lockdown, television content became a lifeline. Broadcasters, who like many others, were adapting to ‘at home working’, were faced with enormous pressure – to not only continue to produce, manage and distribute content remotely - but to embrace these new working methods. And that’s exactly what they did.
