Anthony Clark, Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer

In his dual role as executive vice president and chief operations officer, Anthony Clark is responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, ensuring efficient operations and proper management of resources, and keeping financial records. In the manufacturing industry since 1979 and with Cobalt since 1998, Clark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Eastern Illinois University. He is based at Cobalt’s headquarters in Champaign, Illinois.

Ryan Wallenberg, Vice President of Engineering

As vice president of engineering, Ryan Wallenberg oversees the engineering department and sets the product development direction for Cobalt — a role that involves working with customers to understand requirements, working with the design group and product manager on product specifications, managing Cobalt’s various core engineering teams, and reporting directly to top-level management. Wallenberg joined Cobalt in 2007 as a product engineer involved in many aspects of a product lifecycle, working on everything from low-level schematic and PCB design all the way to firmware development. In 2013, while still involved in product development, Wallenberg shifted his core focus to team management when he became the leader of the embedded engineering team. He was promoted to director of engineering in 2014 and vice president of engineering in 2016. Wallenberg earned two bachelor’s degrees from Illinois Institute of Technology: one in electrical engineering and the other in computer engineering. He is based in Champaign, Illinois.

Jesse Foster, Director of Products and Business Development

In his role as Cobalt Digital’s product development manager, Jesse Foster has a wide range of responsibilities within the company. Chief among them are new product development, product messaging, trade show booth design, technical sales, system drawings for proposals, and customer support. He is also a fiber optics and compression product specialist, and he supports other sales people in their sales efforts. Before joining Cobalt nearly four years ago, Foster spent eight years at Evertz, two in customer service and six in a senior technical sales position. Prior to Evertz, he worked for three years in the camera engineering department at Plus 8 Video, a premier rental house that was acquired by Panavision. Foster is a certified fiber-optic technician who is well-versed in large video-routing systems, multiviewers, video and audio processing, fiber optics, RF, streaming media/compression, live production, postproduction, and broadcast. He is a member of SMPTE and is currently the youngest member of the Society of Television Engineers. Foster is based in Los Angeles.

Nicholas Maag, Director of Manufacturing

Nicholas Maag has spent nearly 10 years as production manager at Cobalt Digital, where he manages the company’s supply chain, purchasing, and production schedules. In addition, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Cobalt’s contract manufacturers, test department, and shipping/receiving activities, and he also works closely with engineering, sales, and accounting teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Before joining Cobalt, Maag spent two years as purchasing and inventory manager at scientific instrumentation manufacturer ISS. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Illinois State University and works at the Cobalt headquarters in Champaign, Illinois.
